Comox Valley Raise-a-Reader campaign

The Postmedia Raise-a-Reader campaign exists to empower today’s children and families with tools to improve their reading skills. These skills are the foundation for lifelong learning that significantly affects the quality of life and the health and social economic well-being of individuals, families and communities.

The Comox Valley joined the Raise-a-Reader campaign in 2013. Through local sponsorship, donations, fundraisers and the Raise-a-Reader Day exchange of special-edition newspapers for donations, the Comox Valley has raised over $40000 for literacy. The Ministry of Education leveraged these funds by approximately $25000 for a total of $65000. 100% of all funds raised will go to each local literacy community stay in the Comox Valley and will go toward local literacy programs and resources.

Raise-a-Reader Day was September 23rd, 2015. Through the generous support of our sponsors and donors we were able to raise $28000!
